Students inform LMU of their intent to graduate by submitting an application for a degree; the University does not submit applications for students. All applicants file for a degree in the term in which they expect and qualify to graduate.

To earn a degree from LMU, your degree audit must show all requirements as MET. Do not wait to request or file adjustments; you are responsible for communicating with your advisor/program director to take the appropriate steps to reconcile any missing or inaccurate elements on your degree audit as soon as possible, prior to your intended graduation date.

You do not have to earn your degree in the Spring term to qualify to participate in the commencement ceremonies. Please read the policy concerning Participation in the Commencement Ceremony.
Student Record Name for Diploma
Your legal name or your chosen first name as found in your record may be printed on the diploma. To change your legal name on your record, submit a Change of Legal Name or SSN. For more information about using a chosen first name, please visit: Chosen Name.
Changes to Diploma Address after Submission
Your diploma will be sent to your 6-8 weeks following your graduation date, as long as you have no financial holds on your account. If you need to change your diploma address, submit an updated Application for Degree with the appropriate option checked or email firstname.lastname@example.org prior to the diploma order date. You may view both the diploma address and the order date on PROWL: Student Services > Student Records > View Degree Information.
After submission of this form, you will receive an email confirming the data you entered. Please allow a minimum of 10 business days for processing (longer near the submission deadline) and then check your Degree Status on PROWL (Student Services > Student Records > View Degree Information). Acceptance of your Application for Degree does not guarantee awarding of degree. Only by meeting all criteria for graduation and degree clearance will you degree be officially conferred.
